After the great success of the CEM60, iOptron launches a new mount in the same category on the market, even more advanced!
The new CEM70 has the typical appearance of the reliable CEM series mounts, an acronym which stands for center-balanced equatorial mount. The design of these instruments allows for a particularly advantageous relationship between load capacity and weight of the mount. In the case of the CEM70 this ratio is 2.3: it means that the frame is able to carry more than double its own weight! This is why it proves to be a valid instrument for traveling use, but at the same time also excellent for astronomical observatories.
Stepper motors and toothed belt transmission they allow great GoTo pointing precision but above all extreme tracking accuracy, with a periodic error of less than +/- 3.5 arcseconds - all with the usual, pleasant silent operation typical of iOptron mounts.
The CEM70 mount is available in two versions:
In addition to the features already mentioned, the standard version includes:
- iPolar camera integrated. This camera replaces the classic polar scope and allows precise and convenient north alignment via laptop.
- Stepper motors (1.8° with 128 microsteps) which guarantee precision in pointing and tracking.
- Go2Nova 8407 hand control with integrated heating to prevent the large display from fogging up
- 32 channel GPS: the computer control always knows where it is and already knows the date and time for initializing the GoTo.
- Advanced cabling management with the possibility of connecting accessories.
- Bivalent saddle for mounting dovetail slides according to the Vixen and Losmandy standard. With a 20cm long saddle even heavy optics are safe!
- Large knobs and easy to use even with gloves.
Both versions of the CEM70 can be connected to an autoguider via ST-4 port . This results in perfect tracking control for images requiring long exposure times.
The CEM70G version is additionally equipped with an integrated autoguider, the new iOptron iGuider! It therefore does not require alternative solutions for self-driving!
Furthermore, only the CEM70G version provides a network WLAN (WiFi) integrated and fast USB 3.0 port for communication with an external computer (PC or laptop). Astrophotographers will have great satisfaction from such a powerful working tool as the CEM70G mount, which in terms of load capacity is able to satisfy any desire.
Both versions of the CEM70 are supplied in a sturdy carrying case.
