Description
The ALccd-QHY 5 is a very light and small special camera for the autoguiding and photography planetarium .
The camera is equipped with a powerful CMOS chip. This is characterized by extremely low noise with high photosensitivity . The resolution corresponds to the level of a comparable CCD chip. However, CMOS has lower power consumption and is also cheaper.
The camera does not require an external power supply. Power is supplied via the USB cable included in the delivery. Also included is a RJ-12 autoguiding cable standard. This works for example with Koch FS2 controls, Vixen StarBook, Sky-Watcher SynScan, Celestron NexStar, Losmandy Standard and Gemini (also older versions), Takahashi Temma, Astrofisica, Pulsar and many more.
For autoguiding we recommend the ASCOM compatible software packages MSB AstroArt, PHD or MaxIm DL. For the registration operation the ALccd-QHY own EZPlanetary software.
The small pixel sizes also allow high-resolution images at a shorter focal length without having to use a Barlow lens.
The camera has a 1.25" socket, but since the camera body itself is sufficient for this size, it can be connected directly to the focuser.
