Description
TS-Optics GSO 6" f/12 Classic Cassegrain Telescope
Cassegrain telescopes combine the advantages of a Newtonian telescope by being a pure reflective system with a short build design. In terms of optical quality, Cassegrain telescopes are superior to usual Schmidt-Cassegrain systems. Cassegrain telescopes are mainly used for photography of the moon and planets and for observing astronomical objects. Thanks to the highly sensitive sensors integrated into modern astronomical cameras, deep-sky photography of nebulae, star clusters and galaxies is also possible. The advantages of TS-Optics Cassegrain telescopes at a glance:
♦ Less field curvature than SC telescopes.
♦ Pure reflection system without Schmidt plate, consequently even infrared photography becomes possible at maximum sharpness.
♦ Significantly faster temperature adaptation than a SC, thanks to the open design.
♦ Brighter image thanks to 96% dielectric coating on the primary and secondary mirrors.
♦ No movement, because the primary mirror is fixed High quality 2" Crayford focuser with micro-gear reduction and rings
♦ compression for accessories
♦ 2" and 1.25" 38% obstruction caused by secondary mirror, comparable to SC telescopes.
♦ Better sharpness on the optical axis thanks to precise mirror surfaces and the lack of a Schmidt plate Fewer dew problems: with Schmidt-Cassegrains you get condensation on the plate
♦ Front, not with an internal Cassegrain baffle
♦ for a contrast
♦ even higher Generous backfocus that allows the use of 2" accessories.
♦ Compact tube with only 500 mm length - can be used with holders
♦ Smaller Significantly less expensive than other classic Cassegrain telescopes!
The TS-Optics Cassegrain is a versatile telescope
♦ Mobile Travel Oscilloscope: Take the compact and lightweight telescope with you to your travel location. It only takes a few seconds to unscrew the focuser, making the Cassegrain even more compact and fitting in hand luggage.
♦ Telescope for the observation of astronomical objects: Thanks to the bright and contrasting image and also due to the large field of corrected and illuminated images, the Cassegrain is optimal for the observation of astronomical objects . 2" and 1.25" accessories are no problem. Obstruction by the secondary mirror is only 38%. This is comparable to Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes. As a result of the 96% reflection of the primary and secondary mirrors, the image is significantly brighter. The field sharpness is also better, because the image field is basically undistorted.
♦ Astrophotography Telescope: The Cassegrain is very suitable for photography of the moon and planets. The visual contrast is very high. Due to the internal baffles, scattered light is effectively suppressed. Planets and small lunar craters can be seen without the slightest chromatic aberration. Thanks to its microgear reduction, the Crayford focuser allows precise focusing.
