Observing the Sun in H-Alpha:
the LS100MT/B1200 telescope is a complete instrument for observing the Sun in H-Alpha light, with 100 mm free opening (no central obstruction) e focal length 714 mm . The H-Alpha wavelength offers the most impressive way to observe the Sun, showing the prominences on the corona, the filaments and flares on the surface, and much more. The internal Etalon filter achieves a width at half height < 0.7 Angström , thanks to the innovative air pressure regulation system Pressure Tuner . Fine-tuning occurs via a slight change in air pressure in a pressure chamber inside the telescope. This changes the refractive index of the air, making it easier to precisely adjust the H-Alpha line. The Pressure Tuner guarantees a uniform image, without central obstructions, and an Etalon always protected and safe from wear. A set of collimating lenses installed in the telescope ensures the best performance.
Focusing occurs via the excellent 2 inch Feather-Touch focuser from Starlight-Instruments with 1:10 reduction .

The blocking filter is the B1200 . The B1200 is suitable for visual observation of the Sun and also for solar photography with small sensor cameras. For cameras with large sensors we recommend an LS100MT telescope with a B1800 or B3400 blocking filter.
The mirror diagonal, in which the blocking filter is integrated, has both a 1.25 inch eyepiece connection and a T2 camera connector as standard.

Observe the night sky:
the Etalon H-Alfa system can be removed in just a few steps thanks to the modular structure of the instrument. Thanks to the conversion kit available separately (item number 0551430) the 3-lens apochromatic refractor It can also be used as a normal telescope with 100 mm aperture and 714 mm focal length observe and photograph the night sky . The FPL-53 triplet objective It delivers images with extraordinarily pure colours. The high-quality R&P focuser from the 0551430 conversion kit can be used with standard 2-inch mirror diagonals.
Note: the conversion kit 0551430, available separately, is essential for using the telescope even at night.

- Double Stack
The LS100MT telescope can be equipped with the additional optional module Double Stack DSII/SFPT (article number 0551395). The DSII system is an internal Double Stack module with Pressure Tuner, which allows to reach a width at half height < 0.5 Angström. This makes even more details on the Sun's surface visible.
- Observe the Sun in white light
Once you have removed the H-Alpha unit and applied the 0551430 conversion kit, you can install a solar filter in front of the lens or a Herschel prism on the focuser to observe sunspots in white light.
- Observe the Sun in the Ca-K wavelength
Of course, Lunt Solar Systems' Ca-K filter modules can also be used on the LS100MT telescope, to observe and photograph supergranulation and other effects of the Sun visible in this wavelength.
