Description
TS screw adapter for Baader corrector and TSGPU on Skywatcher Newton
♦ Connection on the telescope side: M54x1 external thread - fits the internal thread of the Skywatcher focuser.
♦ Female thread M48x0.75 - suitable for the Baader MPCC and the TSGPU coma corrector
♦ Fixing of the camera via T2 male thread of the MPCC or M48 thread of the TS GPU - the corrector working distances of 55 mm are maintained.
♦ Also fits the TSKomakorr, but only has a working distance of 54mm.
♦ Thanks to the continuous screw connection, there is no risk of tipping over.
The Baader MPCC coma corrector and TSGPU are widely used by astrophotographers. With this adapter you can optimally connect the coma corrector to your Skywatcher Newton - without fear of tilting or distortion, absolutely safe and above all with very short distances. The corrector disappears completely in the extension tube. Only the connection thread on the camera side protrudes from the adapter. The camera thread distances of 55 mm are also maintained with the adapter.
The TSSW-MPCC also fits the TSKomakorr, but the latter only has a working distance of 54mm.
Connecting the corrector to the Newtonian with the adapter:
♦ The coma corrector is screwed into the M48 female thread of the TS adapter.
♦ The adapter is screwed with the coma corrector into the M54x1 thread of the focuser.
♦ Afterwards, the camera can be connected via the corresponding adapters as before.
The adapter is suitable for the following telescopes:
The adapter is suitable for all Skywatcher Newtonian and Dobsonian telescopes equipped with a 2" Crayford focuser. The connection thread of the focuser tube is an M54x1 female thread. When adapting to other focusers, pay attention to the pitch. Many focusers have a M54x0.75 female thread.
The advantages of a threaded solution:
♦ With the regular 2-inch Skywatcher adapter, three screws press into the 2-inch barrel of the coma corrector. Due to the corrector's locking groove, skew can easily occur. The result is blurry stars in the corners. A screwed solution prevents this.
♦ The metal screws slightly scratch the body of the coma corrector and may even distort the lenses if excessive contact pressure is created. A screw attachment, on the other hand, does not exert any pressure on the corrector.
♦ With a screw connection, 100% adaptation on the optical axis is always guaranteed.
♦ With a plug-in solution, the unit can also fall out of the focuser's 2" socket at moments when the screws loosen. This cannot happen with a threaded solution.
