iOptron's HEM15 mount offers excellent characteristics of a "large" equatorial mount and, thanks to "Harmonic Drive" technology, can be used without counterweights /counterweight shaft. Despite its low weight of just 2.5 kg, it has a maximum load capacity of up to 8 kg (with the use of optional counterweights up to 12 kg). This gives the HEM mount an exceptional weight-to-load ratio as well as having amazing features such as permanent periodic error correction ( PEC ), automatic mounting shutdown in case of power failures without the need to repeat the configuration after reboot, precise tracking (even without guidance), internal cable management, a large prismatic clamp for Vixen and guides, high quality CNC machined and anodized materials, iOptron software Go2Nova 8409 tested, Built-in WiFi and drive exceptionally silent from the iOptron brand.

Please read the Quick Installation Guide (QSG) BEFORE installing and using the mount! Please also read the complete online instruction manual for details. A HEM mount has an internal cable management system. To avoid damage to the cable, a mechanical stop is implemented on the RA axis to prevent rotation more than 360 degrees. Due to the powerful strain wave gear torque in these mounts, damage to the stopper can occur if:

1.) "Site and time" are set incorrectly and

2.) The mount was started from an incorrect zero position.

Perform these steps when starting the HEM mount: "MENU => Zero Position => Searching for Zero Position" to establish the zero position. Then he manually rotated the mount beyond the meridian by 20 degrees.
