Description
Modular telescope for all uses, both for observing the Sun in the H-Alpha wavelength and for the night sky. Easy conversion between different applications in just a few steps. Excellent image quality, thanks to the 2-lens ED optics with 70 mm aperture for night observation and 60 mm useful in H-Alpha Sun Observation.
With the innovative air pressure regulation system, a high-quality 2 inch (50.8 mm) Feather-Touch focuser and B1200 blocking filter.
Observing the Sun in H-Alpha:
The LS60MT/B1200 telescope is a complete instrument for observing the Sun in H-alpha light, with 60 mm free aperture (no central obstruction) and 420 mm focal length . The H-Alpha wavelength offers the most fascinating way to observe the Sun, because it makes visible the prominences on the solar corona, as well as the filaments and flares on the surface, and much more. An internal Etalon filter achieves a width at mid-height < 0.7 Angström thanks to the innovative air pressure regulation system Pressure Tuner . Fine-tuning occurs via a slight change in air pressure in a pressure chamber inside the telescope. In this way the refractive index of the air is modified, allowing precise and simple tuning of the H-Alfa line. The Pressure Tuner guarantees uniform images, free of central obstruction, and an Etalon filter always protected and preserved from wear. A set of collimating lenses installed in the telescope ensures the best performance.
Focusing is via an exceptional 2-inch Feather-Touch focuser from Starlight-Instruments with 1:10 reduction .
The blocking filter is the B1200. The B1200 is ideal for both visual observation of the Sun and solar photography.
The mirror diagonal, in which the blocking filter is installed, is equipped as standard with both a 1.25 inch eyepiece mount and a T2 camera connector.
Observe the night sky:
The Etalon H-Alfa system, thanks to its modular structure, can be easily removed from the telescope in a few simple steps. The 2-lens ED refractor can therefore be used as a normal telescope with 70 mm aperture and 420 mm focal length to observe and photograph the night sky. The ED doublet lens delivers excellent images. Additionally, common 2-inch mirror diagonals can be used on the Feather-Touch focuser.
With an additional Amici prism, the telescope can of course also be used during the day for nature and landscape observations.
That's why the LS60MT telescope, with its size and low weight, is also an ideal travel instrument for all applications!
Other uses:
with the additional accessories available separately the LS60MT telescope offers even more possibilities!
- Double Stack
The LS60MT telescope can be equipped with the optional LS50FHa or LS60FHa Double Stack filters (item numbers 0550200 and 0550250). These filters simply screw onto the front of the LS60MT telescope, with no additional adapters required. In this way, a half-width < 0.5 Angström is achieved in solar observation in H-Alpha, thus revealing even more details on the Sun's surface.
- Observe the Sun in white light
Once the H-Alpha unit has been removed, it is of course possible to install a solar filter in front of the objective, or a Herschel prism on the focuser, to observe sunspots in white light.
- Observe the Sun in the Ca-K wavelength
Of course, LUNT Solar Systems' Ca-K filter modules can also be used on the LS60MT telescope to observe and photograph super-granulation and other effects visible on the Sun in this wavelength.
That's why the LS60MT telescope is a truly universal tool!
