Description
Revolutionary new design of the stereo binocular viewer
- With zero backfocus requirements, it can be used with any type of telescope , even Newtonian, without the need for extension lenses
- It has one dielectric mirror that splits the beam - not a prism - which reduces aberrations and improves contrast
- The twist-tight collars on the eyepiece mounts are self-centering to eliminate the problematic eyepiece offset.
The innovative Premium Linear Binoviewer boasts a sliding "linear" housing for adjusting the interpupillary distance (IPD) instead of the traditional "folding" body. This is important because folding types are more prone to collimation problems, whereby the two barrels of the binoviewer become misaligned, causing "double images" and eye strain. With the Premium Linear BinoViewer you simply slide the two housing halves in or out to set the IPD - from 58mm to 74mm — and there's a handy IPD scale laser-etched onto the housing so you know exactly where to place it next time for your (or anyone else's) eyes.
The dielectric-coated mirror, which boasts a 99% reflectivity, minimizes differences in brightness, contrast and color tone between left and right images compared to binoviewers containing prisms. And four of the internal lenses are made of lanthanum glass, which effectively suppresses chromatic aberration.
