Description
ZWO ASI 6200 MM/MC Pro - powerful latest generation astrocamera
With this new camera ZWO has gone one step further. The full frame sensor with diagonal of about 43 mm allows you to create astrophotographs with gigantic image fields.
One of the key features of the ASI 6200 MM/MC Pro is its sensational light sensitivity. 80% QE thanks to technology BACK LIGHTING and the very low glow of the amplifier make the camera very suitable for all astronomical applications, but especially for deep-sky astrophotography.
Additional benefits and features of the ASI 6200 MM/MC Pro camera:
- USB 3.0 for fast downloading - can also be used with USB 2.0
- DDR3 memory buffer for stable data transfer with USB2.0 - minimizes amplifier flare
- Powerful Peltier cooling up to 35°C in ambient conditions
- One of Sony's most light-sensitive CMOS sensors
- High resolution thanks to 3.76 µm pixels - ideal for fast and sharp telescopes such as Apos, Hyperstar, Celestron Faststar, fast Newtonian telescopes
- High sensitivity (QE approx. 80%), ideal astronomical camera for faint objects
- 16-bit ADC, which allows you to achieve the same depth as CCD cameras, but with disproportionately higher sensitivity
Camera applications:
- Deep-sky photography (Nebulae and Galaxies): Thanks to the high sensitivity, Nebulae and Galaxies are imaged after a few seconds. The camera can be cooled to 35°C below ambient temperature. This further reduces the already low noise. By raising the GAIN, you can reduce exposure times to less than 30 seconds. The effects due to tracking inaccuracies are thus eliminated.
- Lunar and planetary photography: Extremely short exposure times thanks to high sensitivity to freeze air turbulence. Thanks to the high resolution of the sensor, it is possible to image many details even with a telescope of shorter focal length. Video astronomy is also possible
Special features of the ZWO ASI Pro cameras:
The ASI Pro cameras are equipped with a 256 MB DDR3 buffer memory, which ensures reliability in data transfer and reduces the so-called amp-glow, which can arise with the slower USB 2.0 interface.
The ASI Pro can count on an optimized camera body. Four screws reliably close the sensor compartment. The design has been thoroughly tested and proven to be extremely robust. Even in conditions of high humidity the chamber does not present fogging due to condensation.
To allow breathtaking deep-sky shooting, the ASI Pro cameras are also equipped with a two-cell Peltier cooling system, which guarantee sensor temperatures from 40 to 45° C below the ambient temperature. For this reason the noise is greatly reduced.
ZWO ASI chambers with active cooling require an additional 12 volt power supply. If you don't have a suitable cable, you can find it among the recommended accessories.
