LS40THa/B1200 is a complete telescope for observing the sun in H-alpha light, with a free aperture of 40 mm (no central obstruction) and a focal length of 400 mm . The H-alpha wavelength is the most impressive way to observe the sun, as prominences at the edges of the sun, filaments and flares on the surface, and much more become visible. An Etalon filter with mechanical tilt adjustment achieves a bandwidth of <0.7 Angstroms .
Focusing is performed by a 1.25-inch helical focuser. The blocking filter is B1200 , excellent for observing the sun. The zenith mirror, in which the blocking filter is installed, is equipped with a 1.25-inch eyepiece socket.
The ease of use makes this telescope ideal for those starting to observe the sun in H-alpha. Due to its compact size, it is also a good travel telescope for the expert solar observer.
LS40THa telescopes are optionally available with a B500, B600 or B1200 blocking filter. Larger blocking filters offer fewer edge shadows and a wider field of view for observation and photography. Please note that these telescopes only have a very small back-focus, so photography is very difficult. For photography, we recommend special astronomical cameras that have a close distance to the sensor, such as the BRESSER Full HD camera item number 4959050.
