Description
ZWO ASI 2600 MC/MM Pro - powerful astrocamera of the latest generation
ZWO has taken another step forward with this new camera. The APS-C sensor allows you to make astrophotos with large image fields.
One of the main features of the ASI 2600 MC/MM Pro is the sensational sensitivity to light. The 80-90% QE due to the BACK ILLUMINATION technology and the very low glare of the amplifier make the camera very suitable for all astronomical applications (but especially for deep-sky astrophotography).
Additional benefits and features of the ASI 2600 MC/MM Pro camera:
- USB 3.0 for fast download - can also be used with USB 2.0
- DDR3 memory buffer for stable data transfer with USB2.0 - minimizes amplifier glare
- Powerful Peltier cooling up to 35°C below ambient temperature
- One of Sony's most light-sensitive CMOS sensors
- High resolution thanks to 3.76 µm pixels - ideal for fast and sharp telescopes, such as Apos, Hyperstar, Celestron Faststar, high luminosity Newtonian telescopes
- High sensitivity (QE approx. 80% - 90%), astro camera ideal for dull objects
- 16-bit ADC, which achieves the same depth as CCD cameras, but with much higher sensitivity.
Camera application areas:
- Deep sky images (nebulae and galaxies): Due to the high sensitivity, nebulae and galaxies are imaged after a few seconds. The camera can be cooled down to 35°C below ambient temperature. This further reduces the already low noise. By increasing the GAIN, it is possible to reduce exposure times to less than 30 seconds. In this way the effects due to tracking inaccuracies are eliminated.
- Lunar and planetary photography: extremely short exposure times thanks to high sensitivity removes atmospheric turbulence. Thanks to the high resolution of the sensor, many details can be captured even with a telescope with a shorter focal length. Video astronomy is also possible
Special features of the ZWO ASI Pro chambers:
ASI Pro cameras are equipped with a 256 Mbyte DDR3 buffer memory, which ensures reliable data transfer and reduces the so-called amp-glow, which can occur with the slower USB 2.0 interface.
The ASI Pro can count on an optimized camera body. Four screws reliably close the sensor compartment. The design has been thoroughly tested and proven to be extremely robust. Even in conditions of high humidity, the chamber does not show fogging due to condensation.
To allow breathtaking deep-sky shots, the ASI Pro cameras are also equipped with a two-cell Peltier cooling system, which guarantees sensor temperatures from 40 to 45° C below the ambient temperature. For this the noise is greatly reduced.
ZWO ASI chambers with active cooling require an additional 12 volt power supply. If you do not have a suitable cable, you can find it among the recommended accessories.
