All you need is a tripod, the MiniTrack, a ball head and your camera. The MiniTrack mount has only one goal: to allow everyone to take stunning astronomical photos. Here's how to do it...

60 minute mechanical tracking

The MiniTrack has a mechanical heart where there is no room for electronics. In fact, it is a precise mechanism that makes your camera move precisely. Charge the MiniTrack like an analog clock to start tracking. This mount never lags behind, even in subzero temperatures and even when carrying telephoto lenses. It is therefore no coincidence that it has won the hearts of amateur astronomers for panoramic astronomical photography.

Like a counterweight: an optimized spring system

The MiniTrack LX3 has no counterweights, which are replaced instead by a spring system. This makes it extremely compact and easy to transport. So here's the news: the spring system compensates for the weight of the camera and slows down or speeds up tracking, for greater adaptability and even more precise tracking.

A tip: the ideal tracking speed is reached when the mechanism ticks 130-135 times per minute. Depending on the weight of your chamber it will therefore be necessary to adjust the spring tension. To do this we suggest checking the ticking per minute with the “TapTempo-App BPM” smartphone app. This is an application that comes from the world of music, to measure the tempo of musical pieces. Take advantage of this to measure the speed of your MiniTrack.

Large Teflon bushing

The entire structure of the MiniTrack has been improved: the large Teflon bushing ensures particularly smooth movement of your camera.

CNC body

Nicer to look at but also more resistant: this is the new design of the MiniTrack LX3, made of significantly more robust milled aluminium. So don't worry if your frame undergoes heavy work: its appearance will remain unchanged even after years.

Higher load capacity, excellent transportability

The MiniTrack now takes cameras up to 3kg in weight. At the same time, however, it remains small, light and transportable as before. The difference: the camera can also be used with larger lenses, but the stability is the same as you are already used to.

Suitable for any photographic tripod

The MiniTrack is equipped with two sockets: for the tripod and for the camera, or for the ball head. Place the mount as usual using a 1/4" screw on your photo tripod and adjust it as desired. On the other side, mount the ball head with 3/8" thread.
