ALccd-QHY 695A uses the high sensitivity SONY ExView II ICX695 CCD sensor. This six megapixel sensor has a quantum efficiency of almost 80%! In combination with the efficient two-stage Peltier cooling, a delta T of 45° is achieved, which reduces thermal noise to a low level. With ALccd-QHY 695A, you get a camera that produces impressive images with very low noise.
Full frame/progressive scan reading of the SONY ExView II CCD sensor does not normally require a mechanical shutter. With the ALccd-QHY 695A, you don't have to do without an (additional) mechanical shutter, which allows you to create automatic dark frames without having to put the cover on the telescope. You can use the mechanical shutter for other purposes, for example for long exposure images when you see that the guide is temporarily very poor - you can close the shutter and just wait for the guide to work smoothly again. The shutter is butterfly-shaped and, thanks to its shape, ensures significantly reduced slopes during the closing and opening process.
The integrated design is aimed at the user who wishes to have one all-inclusive solution : camera, filter wheel and off-axis guider. This camera system includes all of these components.
The off-axis guider is screwed directly into the housing of the camera system, resulting in a torsion-free and fixed fit. The direct screw connection extends the size of the camera/filter wheel combination by just 10mm.
The integrated USB 2.0 hub offers two USB outputs for additional accessories, as well as a dual USB/RS232 converter. These connectors allow you to connect an electric focuser, a guide camera and the mount. This reduces many long cable connections which, as experience shows, can lead to problems. Once you've connected all your peripherals to your camera system, all you need is a single USB cable from your camera to your PC.
The camera system requires a 12V power supply to operate. The connector is screwed and securely connected to the power plug.
