MiniTrack LX Quattro: astrophotography that succeeds
The Omegon MiniTrack Quattro is a mini mount for astrophotography with wide-angle and lightweight telephoto lenses. With it you will be able to take fascinating photographs of the starry sky - even if you have never had anything to do with astrophotography.
This astrotracker works only mechanically, without batteries - and is now able to hold even heavy cameras and lenses that can weigh up to 4 kilograms. But there's even more: The MiniTrack Quattro has been redesigned from the ground up and is now better than ever. For successful and addictive astrophotography.
The advantages at a glance:
- Successfully photograph the starry sky without any effort.
- There is never a need to recharge: it works via a mechanism, independent of the battery and the socket
- Assemble and start immediately
- Excellent for panoramic shots of the starry sky and for telephoto lenses
- Fits in every backpack: a perfect travel mount - whatever your destination.
The special advantages of the MiniTrack LX Quattro:
- Even stronger: the new MiniTrack now carries cameras weighing up to 4 kg.
- A needle bearing ensures smooth operation - for better tracking photographs
- Newly developed spring system: The more robust spring system replaces a counterweight and reliably follows the chambers even under strong one-sided loads

- Optical pole finder for exact alignment to the celestial pole
- Easy conversion for astrophotography under the southern starry sky
- Easy to fit: GP Vixen-style integrated mount - no additional rail required
Better astrophotography on the go and at home
When you return from a trip you will not only bring home holiday photos, but also splendid astrophotographs. It's easier than you think. Everything you need: a tripod, the MiniTrack, a ball head and your camera. Reduced to the essentials, it has only one mission: to make good astrophotographs that anyone can take. And this is the way he does it…
60 minute mechanical tracking
The MiniTrack has a mechanical heart - there is no place for electronics here. A precise movement ensures that your camera tracking is pinpoint accurate. Load the MiniTrack like an analog clock and tracking is activated. This frame never creates problems for you, even at temperatures below zero. Even with telephoto lenses, your new mount stays cool. It is not for nothing that this expert in wide-field photography has captured the hearts of amateur astronomers.
The smallest counterweight in the world?
The MiniTrack Quattro has a completely new spring system. It's not a counterweight, but it works like one. It ensures that the LX Quattro remains compact and as always travel-friendly. She just got better and stronger. The spring acts directly on the axis and guides your camera like a strong and precise arm.
Tip: An ideal tracking speed is achieved when the ticking of the movement is 130-135 times per minute. Depending on the weight of your camera, you need to tension the spring differently. We recommend determining the ticks per minute with a "TapTempo App BPM" for smartphones. These applications actually come from music and are supposed to automatically measure the tempo of a piece of music. But you can use such an application to measure the speed of the MiniTrack.
Needle Bearings: Accurately follow the stars
What power steering is to a car, the integrated needle bearing is to the new MiniTrack: smooth, smooth operation. This is exactly what is needed, because it allows the MiniTrack to follow the stars smoothly and precisely, even with greater weight.
Looks good inside and out: Solid aluminum CNC housing
You can't help but notice: the body of the MiniTrack Quattro is now made from a single piece of aluminum. No savings were made, which makes this model even more stable. Whatever you ask of your MiniTrack, it will accompany you in the mountains or on your travels and it will be a pleasure to share every astronomical experience with it.
High carrying capacity of 4 kilograms
The MiniTrack has now become more suitable and can even handle chambers weighing up to 4 kilograms. At the same time, our manufacturers have retained the old, proven form. So the MiniTrack Quattro still fits into any bag. Have you always wanted to use a large and particularly fast lens? Until now it was unfortunately always too big - but now it is possible.
Find the celestial pole more precisely
Easily find the celestial pole with the optical polar finder. The MiniTrack comes with a mount and polar finder like those used with large mounts. This makes it even easier to position the MiniTrack to take photos of pinpoint stars.
Fits any photography tripod
The MiniTrack has two connections: for the tripod and for the camera or a ball head. Mount the mount as usual on the tripod using a 1/4" screw and align the MiniTrack as required. On the other side, mount a ball head using a 3/8" thread.
GP mount mount
Simply place the MiniTrack on an equatorial head. You don't need a dovetail guide. A Vixen style GP mount has been integrated into the body. Here, everything is fully integrated and you will never have to think about screws or hex keys again.
What if you want to mount the MiniTrack on a tilting head? There is an integrated ¼" and 3/8" thread for this purpose.
Invented by Cristian Fattinnanzi, further developed by Omegon
The MiniTrack was developed by the Italian Christian Fattinnanzi. Omegon further developed and technically implemented the MiniTrack together with the inventor. In the meantime, it has become a real bestseller and is used by thousands of astrophotographers around the world. To ensure consistently high quality, we produce the MiniTrack exclusively in Portugal, where it is assembled and tested by our specialized workers.
With this fully mechanical mini-mount, you can take astrophotographs in the blink of an eye. There is no electricity. No charge. Without batteries. Simply take photos. Always and everywhere.
