Description
The CEM40 is the latest mount in iOptron's series of center-balanced equatorial mounts (CEM).
The frame weighs only 7.2 kilograms , but carries optical instruments and accessories up to 18 kilograms . This excellent payload-to-weight ratio of 2.5 is the reason why the CEM40 is so versatile. You can carry it to the best observation sites under dark skies or place it on a small column in your garden observatory.
But the mount has even more advantages:
- The seeker iPolar integrated electronic polar makes perfect north alignment a breeze, even when the North Star is not visible! Note: To use the iPolar you need a laptop or PC.
- THE large clamps they allow, even with gloves, to decouple the RA and Dec movements from the gears to move the axes freely.
- There internal cable management prevents tangles and breakage.
- The sled universal self-centering Newly designed mount accepts standard Losmandy and Vixen dovetail bars and provides precise optics alignment.
- The body of the frame is CNC machined Not only does it look elegant, but it is also durable.
The GoTo computer control includes modern Go2Nova 8407+ button panel , which incorporates a heating system so that the display does not fog up due to condensation. The database contains over 212,000 objects! Furthermore, the control is equipped with a 32-channel GPS , which saves you the hassle of entering the date, location and time. Of course, the mount has an ST-4 connector for autoguiding.
In addition to the special design of the CEM, the axis movement is a special feature of this mount. The movement of the axes is very silent with stepper motors it is ideal for balcony observatories and consumes relatively little energy.
The CEM40 is a very versatile and advanced mount!
With or without encoder : The mount is available in two versions, both of which precisely track your optics in the night sky. The version with high resolution (EC) encoders on both axes achieves an accuracy better than 0.25 angular seconds and corrects the periodic error of the worm in real time! This eliminates the need for guidance in astrophotography.
The tripod LiteRoc is a new tripod developed by iOptron that is as light as possible but as stable as necessary. It is therefore very well suited to transportable mounts for mobile observatories and astrophotographers. Compared to the previous version, the LiteRoc tripod has a more stable support for the extendable tripod legs and larger clamping levers. The upper tripod legs have a diameter of 45 mm (1.75") and the lower section 38 mm (1.5"). This makes the extendable legs just as strong as those of the previous 2" tripod. Thanks to the narrower design of the top section, the LiteRoc is lighter.
