Innovative ideas for a proven design: iOptron GEM45 is the new generation German frame! The elegant CNC machined housing suggests that the GEM45 is a first-class mount in both form and function.

And that's right: the GEM45 has a lot to offer beyond elegance:

• The frame is so slim in design that it has a incredibly favorable weight/capacity ratio , i.e. 2.8. The compact 7 kilogram mount precisely and safely supports an optic with accessories weighing up to 20 kilograms!
• With the integrated electronic polar finder (iPolar) , the correct alignment of the mount (Polar Alignment) is child's play, even when the North Star is not visible.
• Thanks to the large levers, the quick locking system of the drive can be easily released or inserted even while wearing gloves. Internal cable management system prevents tangling or snags.
• A new Universal Self-Centering Saddle (USCS) patent pending accepts standard Losmandy and Vixen dovetail prism guides.
• The GEM45 mount uses a reliable stepper motor drive system with low power consumption.
• A database of over 212,000 star-tracking objects, GPS built-in, large portable hand control and optional Wi-Fi (requires iStarFi adapter) are just a few of the advanced standards of this mount's GoTo system.

Note: This frame is available in two versions. The frame with G in the designation also has a integrated autoguider in the head of the mount, the new one iGuider by iOptron! With this version of the mount, a separate autoguiding solution is no longer necessary!

The variant without iGuider can be equipped with an external solution for tracking control. Such tracking controls are only necessary for astrophotography with long exposure times.

The tripod LiteRoc is a new tripod developed by iOptron that is as light as possible but as stable as necessary. It is therefore very well suited to transportable mounts for mobile observatories and astrophotographers. Compared to the previous version, the LiteRoc tripod has a more stable support for the extendable tripod legs and larger clamping levers. The upper tripod legs have a diameter of 45 mm (1.75") and the lower section 38 mm (1.5"). This makes the extendable legs just as strong as those of the previous 2" tripod. Thanks to the narrower design of the top section, the LiteRoc is lighter.

Using the experiences gained during the development of our CEM series, we were able to remove unnecessary bulk giving the GEM45 an incredible payload to mounting weight ratio of 2.5. This compact 17.5-pound mount can accurately target an object and track with up to 45 pounds of gear on board. With its integrated electronic polar oscilloscope (iPolar ^TM), polar alignment is a breeze, even when the North Star is obscured. Large levers on the quick-lock drive engagement system make it easy to engage drive gears even when wearing gloves. There is little chance of cables snagging with the GEM45's internal advanced cable management system. A 6" dual saddle accommodates Losmandy and Vixen style dovetail plates. GEM45 mounts utilize reliable stepper motor drive systems with our low power consumption technology. Our new 1.75" LiteRoc tripod offers rock-solid stability in a lighter, more compact package. A 212,000+ object library with star identification, GPS, Wi-Fi (requires optional iStarFi adapter) are some of the desirable features standard on a GEM45 mount.

This GEM45G mount comes with a built-in guide camera, iGuider ^TM. The iGuider consists of a 4mm f30 lens with a 1/3-inch, 3.75um pixel imaging sensor, conveniently integrated into the dovetail saddle. iPolar, iGuider and an additional USB port on the dovetail saddle are all connected via a single USB connection.
