Utilizing cutting-edge strain wave drive technology for RA motion in tandem with DEC's backlash-free worm/belt drive design, the HEM27s deliver unprecedented weight for payload efficiency. Its black anodized metal CNC machined body isn't just appealing to the eye, it's a rugged platform that will perform at the highest levels for many years to come. Unique features like an electronic friction switch and power-off memory allow the mount to safely stop and resume a GoTo rotation or continue tracking even after an abrupt loss of power (no need to realign and start over).
A HEM27 mount can be controlled from a computer, via ASCOM/Commander for a Windows PC or a third-party INDI driver for MacOS software; a SmartPhone/Tablet via iOptron Commander Lite or an App such as SkySafari; or a Raspberry Pi device via INDI driver.
The HEM27 EC features a high-precision RA-axis encoder that offers incredible tracking accuracy, so much so that many will choose to view “unguided” images.
