The polar finderscope is used to quickly and accurately align the mount with the celestial pole.
The polar scope screws onto the back of the mount. With this improved polar scope you get good mount alignment in no time. Since the North Celestial Pole, on which the telescope is to be aligned, is not in the exact position of the Pole Star, this polescope becomes particularly important. Alignment is improved, and only with precise alignment is long exposure photography possible.
