Description

SkyGuider Pro is one very light frame which allows a camera with interchangeable lenses or a small telescope to follow the rotation of the sky. This allows for longer exposure times and so you will be able to take fascinating shots wide angle images of the night sky.

SkyGuider Pro is the big brother of the very popular iOptron SkyTracker Pro mount . SkyGuider Pro allows the use of cameras with heavy lenses up to five kilograms . To make this possible, SkyGuider Pro it has a thicker right ascension axis, larger worm wheels, and a counterweight that you can use to balance the camera.

Instead of the counterweight, a second camera can also be mounted so that a section of the sky can be shot with two different focal lengths. This second camera can weigh up to three kilograms .

Optionally, you can also use the Go2Nova hand control and even automatically track via the ST-4 input.

The SkyGuider-Pro It has a built-in lithium polymer battery. It can be charged via USB.

In order for the mount to correctly follow the rotation of the sky, the axis of rotation of SkyGuider Pro it must be aligned with the Earth's rotation axis. To do this, just point to the Pole Star, which - as nature happens - marks more or less exactly the position of the rotation axis in the sky. To aim at the Pole Star, a small telescope incorporated into the axis is used SkyGuider Pro . This so-called polar finder it has an engraving that serves to orient it towards the Pole Star. The engraving itself is illuminated . This makes correct alignment a breeze.

You will probably use the standard speed most of the time, at which the camera keeps the stars in the field of view. But it is also possible to select the speed of the Sun or the Moon. Another option for speed is very interesting: if you want to photograph both the stars and the landscape or buildings in the foreground, select half the speed with which the stars move. This way, the stars still remain point-like without foreground objects becoming blurry.

It is also possible to reverse the direction of rotation for all four possible speed levels, so that SkyGuider Pro functions also in the southern hemisphere of the Earth. This is important because, after all, SkyGuider Pro it's also a great one travel mount!
