Description
On the track with the flagship: the 104 mm apochromatic triplet for fantastic astrophotos
If you are looking for an apochromat that renders images with pure colors and excellent contrast, then the Omegon 104 f/6 is the right choice for you. The air-spaced triplet lens with Japanese-made OHARA glass delivers bright images with sharp stars right to the edges. Even at high magnifications you can experience very strong contrast. Take this master of astronomical photography on board with you: it will be an excellent help for all your shots.
The main features at a glance:
- Triplet objective with FPL-53 and FPL-51 elements
- Images with pure colors and excellent contrast
- Full illumination: 2.9" focuser with diagonal rack and 1:10 micro focus
- 2"/1.25" reduction and M74 fitting
- Aluminum transport case
The optics achieve image rendering of the highest level
When you observe a planet with this apochromat, you will have nothing less than an extraordinary experience. Compared to most mirror systems, you will discover more details with excellent contrast - simply, a sharper planet. What was said for planets naturally also applies to star clusters or deep-sky objects.
The reason lies in one of the best optical systems known. A triplet lens equipped with an OHARA-FPL 53 and FFPL51 element completely eliminates chromatic aberration. In this way, this refractor lays the foundation for fascinating and exclusive astrophotographs.
Compared to mirror systems, the image definition in apochromats is significantly better, because these telescopes are free of obstruction and therefore do not present the deterioration in the intensity distribution associated with it. Especially with low contrast differences the refractor proves to be an unbeatable tool.
2.9" hybrid focuser - full illumination
To be able to connect any camera, this apochromat is equipped with a 2.9" focuser. Whether with an APS sensor or a full-frame camera, total illumination is always guaranteed. The focuser can be adjusted via a diagonal rack and slides up plain bearings Even when attaching heavy cameras, perfect focus is ensured.
In every position: rotatable 360°
Too often it happens that the astrophotographer has an object in view but the camera is oriented the wrong way. Maybe an oblong object is not aligned with the sensor, but is in an oblique position. This problem is easily solved with a 360° rotatable focuser.
Dualspeed with 1:10 gear ratio
Focusing on an object occurs in two ways: a coarse adjustment and a millimetric adjustment via the 1:10 reduction. The latter allows precise focusing of objects. Astrophotographers already know the problem: they think they have achieved optimal sharpness, but instead the image is blurry. However, the gear ratio has such precise mechanics that it reacts to even the slightest variations, allowing you to find the correct focus point.
1.25", 2" and M74 socket
The 2.9" focuser is equipped with the usual 2" mount with a reduction to 1.25". This allows you to attach all accessories from our range, such as eyepieces and adapters. An additional M74 mount is used for the camera. full frame. You will therefore have a perfectly flat and bright field of view.
CNC tube for one of the best optics
The Omegon apochromat tube consists of a metal structure with a sophisticated anti-reflection system. Furthermore, the entire tube has been lined internally with black fabric.
Anti-condensation hood
The anti-condensation cap of the apochromat is removable and has an overall length of just 635 mm.
Transport case: the "cabin" for the refractor
When not in service the refractor returns to its rest position, i.e. in its case. This is made of aluminum on the outside, while on the inside it is made of perfectly shaped synthetic foam: so your instrument will find its place protected from dust and shocks. This refractor will be your watchtower, and the mount your control panel, allowing you to obtain excellent results.
Other technical details
- Tube length (collapsed) 564 mm
- Tube length with fully extended anti-condensation cap 635 mm
- Anti-condensation cap length 134 mm
- External diameter of the tube 114 mm
- Focuser adjustment 96 mm
- Case measures 670x230x231 mm
- Tube weight 5560 g
- CNC support rings 820 g
The Omegon field flattener - perfectly flat images for your astrophotography
Many refractors and mirror telescopes are subject to field curvature. In a curved image, those near the edge no longer appear as sharp, bright point objects, but as blurry ovals. The new Omegon field flattener will enchant you with beautiful, curvature-free astronomical photos with pinpoint stars right up to the outer edges of the field of view.
To get the problem under control…
Field curvature is a common optical aberration, which is not noticeable in visual observations or when photographing with small sensors. However, if large sensors or full-frame cameras are used, this anomaly is clearly noticeable. Of course, you can always crop the edges of your photos later, but if you've treated yourself to a camera with an expensive, large sensor, everything becomes more elegant with a field flattener.
Flat images across the entire field of view
With the field flattener you will obtain absolutely flat images over the entire framed field. The focal length remains unchanged.
Fits 126mm and 150mm APO triplets
Suitable for Omegon Pro Carbon Triplet models with 126mm and 150mm opening.
The M48 fitting for ideal lighting
To take advantage of full illumination, the Omegon field flattener is equipped with M48 threads on both sides. In fact, a T2 adapter ring with M42 thread would limit the light rays, consequently not guaranteeing sufficient illumination for telescopes with a 2" focuser. Only with an M48 thread connection will you be able to fully use the luminous flux.
