Description

Lucky Lunar, Solar Mosaic and DSO Imaging Design!

Saturn-M SQR and Saturn-C SQR is the most powerful planetary camera in our history! Based on BSI IMX533 sensor, high image quality, high resolution and square format, non-amp-glow function, the camera will be ideal for lunar, solar and DSO imaging.

Product Description

Saturn-C SQR camera (IMX533) is developed by Player One Astronomy, SQR means its sensor is square. Saturn-C SQR camera, which adopts Sony IMX533 1 "square color sensor . The pixel size of 3.76 um hosts a depth of 73Ke with a total of 9 MP (resolution is 3008 * 3008 ) e the diagonal is of 16 mm .

STARVIS technology

Saturn-C SQR (IMX533) technology-based camera Sony STARVIS , is the back-illuminated pixel technology used in CMOS image sensors.

Format

The Saturn-C SQR camera has a 1" format, this size is large enough for imaging.

Extend the full capacity of the well

Based on our technology, we have improved the full well of the Saturn-M SQR camera to 73Ke , it is almost 1.5 times compared to IMX533 Basic (50ke).

High frame rate

Based on our technology Saturn-M SQR camera can perform 43FPS in RAW8 mode, which is much faster than existing models on the market.

Dual sampling mode

The Saturn SQR series has a dual sampling mode. Normal mode and LRN mode, have different advantages in imaging.

1. The normal mode It has faster FPS, it is more suitable for planetary imaging.

2. The LRN mode (low noise of readout) has lower readout noise and higher dynamic range. it is more suitable for lucky DSO imaging.

Attractions

Non-Amp-Glow

The dark frame of Saturn-C SQR camera (IMX533) is totally "dark", that we called it "Non-Amp-Glow" camera!

Saturn-C SQR Camera 300s Dark Frame (50% Scaling):

Non-Amp-Glow can give us a very clean background, much easier to get high quality images.

Recommended accessories:

ACS (Active Cooling System) is an external air-cooled system, designed for large format solar and planetary cameras which already has PCS (Passive Cooling System ).

ACS can provide much better temperature control. When the camera has PCS+ACS, the temperature is only 7°C higher than ambient, the camera body is a little warm but not hot!

ACS can not only be used in daylight for solar imaging, but also could be used at night for DSO lucky imaging.

Saturn SQR camera is also very good for lunar and planetary imaging, its 1" large format and 9MP total pixels, easier to capture the entire disk of the Moon and Sun or make mosaic more efficiently.

Appreciation of the user's works

Features:

The naming of the Player One Astronomy cameras is unique. The planetary camera line, the naming depends on the size of the planets, Mars (1/3"), Neptune (1/2"), Uranus (1/1.2"), Saturn (1"), Jupiter (4/3") ).

Cutting-edge design

The planetary cameras developed by Player One Astronomy use a scientific and technological regular hexagon to construct the main body line, complemented by round bevels to achieve both rigidity and flexibility. The positive red, which is like a summer fire, is matched with the restrained and steady black, and the super-fine frosting process all over the surface makes the camera look luxurious and cool, highlighting the style of high-end players, I can't help but avert your eyes 😀

2nd generation – Sensor tilt plate

When taking deepsky objects, using the sensor's tilt plate you can achieve a much smaller field curvature of the telescope.

Built-in high-density sponge shade pad can block light from side slits without side leakage.

Passive cooling system

Player One adds a new feature called Passive Cooling System to conduct heat from the sensor to the outside.

256 MB DDR3 cache

Player One astronomical cameras are the first to adopt DDR3 cache in all planetary cameras in the world! Helps stabilize and protect data transmission, effectively avoid frame dropping, and greatly reduce reading noise.

With DDR3 cache, the camera no longer has high processing demands, it will still have excellent performance even if it is connected to a USB 2.0 port.

DPS technology

Player One Astronomy's planetary cameras have DPS (Dead Pixel Suppression) technology. DPS analyzes many dark frames to discover those fixed anomalous pixels and record the map into the camera's memory. In imaging, each exposure frame, the location of the dead pixels will be assigned a median value based on the active pixels around that abnormal pixel.

Overvoltage and overcurrent protection mechanism

Player One cameras manufactured by us ensure the safety of the camera and other equipment through over-voltage and over-current protection mechanisms.

Data port

When the camera is connected to the USB 3.0 interface and full resolution preview is used, it can reach 43 FPS in RAW8 mode (10-bit ADC). When recording images, because the actual writing speed will be affected by the writing speed of the hard disk itself, when the writing speed of the hard disk is slow, recording may not reach the theoretical speed. It is recommended to use a high-quality solid state drive to record data and give full playback to the camera's performance.

Use the ST4 guide cable to connect the camera and the AUTO GUIDE port of the equatorial mount to perform guidance.

Performance

HCG open at gain = 125. Saturn SQR series has dual sampling mode, Standard mode has faster fps, LRN (low read noise) mode has lower read noise and higher dynamic range.

Reading noise

Regarding read noise, we solemnly promise that all values are obtained from real tests. And for users, you can use Sharpcap 4 for testing. SC4 has a function called Sensor Analysis , provides a very simple way to test read noise.

We have written a tutorial on our site: https://player-one-astronomy.com/service/manuals/

If you are interested in reading noise testing, you can try it yourself, which is very simple.
