The legendary SkyTracker by iOptron was the first "mature" star tracker launched on the market, an accessory that fits easily into any bag or suitcase. Placed between the tripod and the camera, it transforms your mount into an astro mount, allowing you to follow the movement of the night sky and to use any camera or DSLR to get fascinating shots of the night sky.
The evolution of the tracker SkyTracker of iOptron is it SkyTrackerPro . As with the previous version, the main features remain ease of use and small size; but beyond that, the new tracker SkyTracker Pro provides:
- a polar scope adjustable included, equipped with adjustable lighting in eight levels
- a built-in battery rechargeable via Mini-USB cable with 24-hour autonomy (instead of standard batteries)
- four tracking speeds : 1x, 0.5x, solar and lunar; the speed at 0.5 is interesting when you want to shoot the starry sky with the countryside in the background
- a base which, in addition to being adjustable in height and azimuth, is removable; this allows you to position the pursuer SkyTracker Pro on a photographic tripod; the base mount is compatible with common 1/4" and 3/8" photographic mounts
- the base is also equipped with a bubble level integrated, one anti-slip adjustment screw for the azimuth and of one great leverage for height adjustment; the graduated scale allows you to set the latitude, a useful feature when the North Star is not in sight. About North Star: the tracker SkyTracker Pro naturally allows you to reverse the direction of rotation, to use it also in the southern hemisphere.
