ZWO ASI 533 MC Pro - powerful latest generation color astrocamera
ZWO has taken another step forward with this new camera. The color sensor with a diagonal of approximately 16 mm can be used on almost all telescopes. Thanks to the square shape, the correct field of view of the telescope is optimally used. For many telescopes the use of a corrector is not even necessary.
One of the key features of the ASI 533MC Pro is its sensational light sensitivity. The QE of 80% due to the BACK ILLUMINATION technology and the very low glow of the amplifier make the camera very suitable for all astronomical applications, but especially for deep-sky astrophotography.
The "single shot" color camera offers greater convenience than monochrome cameras. Not everyone wants to go through the elaborate L-RGB process to get beautiful shots of colorful nebulae or planets. Color cameras offer the ability to get great images without having to change filters. In direct comparison with a DSLR camera, however, the ASI camera convinces with much higher light sensitivity, smoother image and significantly greater depth. Stars don't run out of energy that quickly.
Further advantages and features of the ASI 533 MC Pro color camera:
- USB 3.0 for fast downloading - can also be used with USB 2.0
- DDR3 memory buffer for stable data transfer with USB2.0 - minimizes amplifier flare
- Powerful Peltier cooling up to 35°C below ambient temperature
- One of Sony's most light-sensitive CMOS sensors
- High resolution thanks to 3.76 µm pixels - ideal for fast and sharp telescopes, such as Apos, Hyperstar, Celestron Faststar, high-brightness Newtonian telescopes
- High sensitivity (QE approximately 80%), astronomical camera ideal for dimly bright objects
- 14-bit ADC, which allows you to achieve the same depth as CCD cameras, but with extremely higher sensitivity
Camera application areas:
- Deep sky images (nebulae and galaxies): Thanks to the high sensitivity, Nebulae and Galaxies are imaged after a few seconds. The chamber can be cooled to 35°C below ambient temperature. This further reduces the already low noise. By increasing the GAIN you can reduce exposure times to less than 30 seconds. In this way the effects due to tracking inaccuracies are eliminated.
- Lunar and planetary photography: extremely short exposure times thanks to high sensitivity removes atmospheric turbulence. Thanks to the high resolution of the sensor, it is possible to image many details even with a telescope of shorter focal length. Video astronomy is also possible.
ZWO ASI chambers with active cooling require an additional 12 volt power supply. If you don't have a suitable cable, you can find it among the recommended accessories.
