Description
The ZWO ASI 183 chamber has great potential and offers countless new possibilities! It is suitable for both deep-sky and lunar and planetary imaging.
The ASI 183 series includes the most sensitive cameras in the history of the ZWO brand. The maximum quantum efficiency of the mono-sensor is 84%!
Perfect for astrophotography
In addition to the Sony IMX183CLK-J (monochrome) and IMX183CQJ-J (colour) sensor, specific for astronomical use is the structure equipped with back illumination (BSI) and very small 2.4 µm pixels. Despite this, the ASI 183 chambers have a particularly high Full Well Capacity of 15,000 electrons.
Sony Exmor technology makes this camera perfect for deep sky photography. The sensor reaches a quantum efficiency of 84%, and in H-alpha it still remains above 60%. A high quantum efficiency means that more of the light collected by the telescope actually reaches the sensor, with a marked improvement in the images.
High Speed
A high frame rate is useful for solar and lunar photography. The high readout speed supports both real-time focusing and the Lucky-Imaging procedure for taking double star and planetary images.
Possible framerates:
10-bit ADC
- 5496×3672 19fps
- 3840×2160 41.04fps
- 1920×1080 80.10fps
- 1280×720 117.30fps
12-bit ADC
- 5496×3672 19fps
- 3840×2160 36.12fps
- 1920×1080 70.48fps
- 1280×720 103.23fps
ST4 Port: This camera is also perfect for autoguiding because it can be connected to the autoguiding port of your mount.
Color or monochrome? Black and white cameras have the advantage of being more sensitive and having a higher resolution than color cameras. However, the expense of color images is high, as filters and a filter wheel are required.
