The ASI 294MC is the first camera equipped with the brand new Sony IMX294CJK sensor: the perfect astrocamera for any conceivable use!

The Sony CMOS sensor "back-illuminated" guarantees maximum sensitivity and therefore short exposure times: with just 30 seconds and subsequent stacking you can image nebulae and galaxies - all without active cooling!

The main advantages of the room, in a nutshell:

• USB 3.0 for fast download - also compatible with USB 2.0
• Very sensitive CMOS sensor: maximum quantum efficiency over 75% (approx. at 530 nm)
• Good resolution due to relatively small pixels
• Transparent AR filter included, for a complete passage of light, even in the infrared. In case you need to block IR rays, you need an IR-cut filter.
• HCG mode - if the Gain (preamplifier) ​​parameter is greater than 120 (12 db), the reading noise is reduced below 2e - Result: although the sensitivity is high, images with very little noise are obtained.

Special features of the ZWO ASI Pro chambers:

ASI Pro cameras are equipped with a 256 Mbyte DDR3 buffer memory, which ensures reliable data transfer and reduces the so-called amp-glow, which can occur with the slower USB 2.0 interface.

The ASI Pro can count on an optimized camera body. Four screws reliably close the sensor compartment. The design has been thoroughly tested and proven to be extremely robust. Even in conditions of high humidity, the chamber does not show fogging due to condensation.

To allow breathtaking deep-sky shooting, the ASI Pro cameras are also equipped with a two-cell Peltier cooling system, which guarantees sensor temperatures from 40 to 45° C below the ambient temperature. For this the noise is greatly reduced.

ZWO ASI chambers with active cooling require an additional 12 volt power supply. If you do not have a suitable cable, you can find it among the recommended accessories.

Color or monochrome? Black and white cameras have the advantage of being more sensitive and having a higher resolution than color cameras. However, the expense of color images is high, as filters and a filter wheel are required.
