Description
With the motorized filter wheel you can change the filters via the control, comfortably and without having to handle the component, while the focus remains unchanged. The filter change can take place automatically.
The control and power supply use the camera's USB 2.0 hub.
The filters are just 10 millimeters away from the sensor, so even with bright telescopes there is no shadowing at the edges.
The ZWO filter wheel allows you to equip your monochrome camera with all the filters necessary to take color astronomical photographs.
The filter wheel is very compact and very light (400 grams without filters). The USB 2.0 socket is sufficient to power the wheel and the peak consumption is around 150mA, so you can directly connect the filter wheel to the USB hub with which the ASI cameras are equipped.
The distance between the filters and the sensor is only 10mm, so there is no worry of vignetting with very fast telescopes, even using an ASI1600.
If you use 31mm filters (ZWO or OPTOLONG ones recommended), you can use lenses up to F/2.0 without vignetting problems.
The wheel can be perfectly controlled with ASCOM drivers downloadable from the ZWO website.
